Temporary Power & HVAC for the 18th Asian Games

The 18th Asian Games was a major multi-city multi-sport event across Jakarta and Palembang, cities more than 500 km apart. Dual host cities double the logistics challenge: plant, people, and technical standards must hold across separate urban systems, climates, and venue portfolios.

Led from FLOW’s Middle East office, the team provided temporary power for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the International Broadcast Centre, and all televised sports, alongside HVAC for overlay structures including the Athletes Village Main Dining Hall and the temporary Squash venue.

That mix of ceremony spectacle, broadcast-critical infrastructure, and athlete-facing climate control is characteristic of continental games delivery, and remains relevant for organisers planning multi-site sports programmes in Asia and the Middle East.
